Sarong Sarong Sarong Sarong

Inspiration &Design concept

The charm and beauty of a woman always draws the artist’s inspiration. The abstract sensuality of a female form in a Thai mural painting of Wat Bhumintr, an ancient temple in Northern Thailand, wearing a ‘Sin’ or ‘Sarong’ has been transformed into this chaise lounge.

Production & Technology

By appropriation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night background motif and a local Mudmee (Ikat) - silk tie-dye fabric weaving technique, the water hyacinth is gradually applied on the surface of the slender fiberglass structure. A perfect interweave of feminine sensation and contemporary design makes this irresistible reclining form which embraces the body comfortably.
